Chapter Philanthropy

This past year we hosted our first PLAYING FOR PAGE philanthropy event! Playing for Page was created with the purpose of raising money for the Robbie Page Memorial Fund, a part of the Tri Sigma Foundation. In 1951, five-year-old Robbie Page, son of the fourth Tri Sigma National President, died of bulbar polio. At the time, this was a devastating disease with no cure. To honor Robbie, Tri Sigma members established the Robbie Page Memorial Fund (RPM) to fund polio research projects, including the Salk vaccine trials, and in 1954 the Robbie Page Memorial Fund became the official philanthropy of Tri Sigma. When a cure was found for polio, the RPM Fund continued to move forward to fund a cutting-edge therapy called "therapeutic play." This treatment evolved to become one of the most important types of children's therapy to help children cope with the treatments and outcomes of their illnesses. Through Playing for Page, we aim to make a difference in the lives of children by assisting in the funding of play therapy rooms as well as by educating others on the importance of providing a space where "kids can just be kids."

Our chapter hosts annual events to raise money for the Tri Sigma Foundation which benefits the March of Dimes and the Robbie Page Memorial Fund. In past years we have hosted Rootin' for Robbie, Food Trucks for a Cause, and many benefit nights throughout the semester. We cannot wait to continue all of our hard work this upcoming year; we have some exciting events planned!

Our sisters also enjoy volunteering their time to help around the community, including Auburn University Dance Marathon, Beat Bama Food Drive, The BIG Event, and many others.
